Bloomington Man Dies in Rockford Township Traffic Crash

An elderly Twin Cities man was killed and two other people were injured when an SUV collided with a semi-truck Friday afternoon in Rockford Township, just southeast of Buffalo.

The State Patrol reports that just before 3 PM, the SUV was eastbound on Highway 55 near 10th Street Southeast, while the semi was westbound. The vehicles collided near 10th Street.

Both vehicles ran into the ditch following the impact. The semi came to rest in the north ditch, while the SUV came to a stop in the south ditch.

Killed in the crash was 84-year-old George Kline of Bloomington. He was pronounced dead at the Hennepin County Medical Center in Minneapolis. A passenger in the SUV, 73-year-old Signe Kline, also of Bloomington, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was also transported to HCMC.

The driver of the semi, 63-year-old Bobby Gasser of Hermitage, Missouri, had non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Buffalo Hospital.

Allina Ambulance, Lifelink, the Wright County Fire and Rescue and the Wright County Medical Examiner all assisted the State Patrol.
