First Court Appearance Expected for Big Lake Man Suspected of Killing His Mother

A Big Lake man who is suspected of killing his mother is expected to make his first court appearance today (Monday) in Sherburne County.

The investigation is continuing into the death of 62-year-old Rosalie Johnson of Big Lake this past Thursday.

The Sherburne County Sheriff’s Office said deputies were called to the scene of the suspected homicide shortly after 9 AM Thursday by the father of the suspect.

The young man’s father told authorities that his son had just killed his mother.

The 20-year-old man, whose name has not yet been released*, was arrested on suspicion of first-degree murder.

Rosalie Johnson was a member of the Big Lake City Council. There has yet to be any official statement from the City of Big Lake.

 

*UPDATE: The name of the accused has been released, 20-year-old Eric Jordahl.
