MN Housing Commissioner Says Rent Assistance Still Available

Minnesotans are reminded that rent assistance is still available for many residents who may be struggling to pay their rent. Minnesota Housing Commissioner Jennifer Ho says despite the vast majority of employers going back to a more normal work schedule, some Minnesotans continue to feel the economic pinch of the pandemic. She says there has been confusion regarding a number of housing-related topics after emerging from “lockdown.”

The state allocated 450 million dollars to the program when it launched, and 274 million has been awarded. More than 65,000 applications have been submitted. To see if you are eligible for rental assistance call 211 or visit; www.renthelpmn.org.
