Xcel Energy has donated over 1.5 million high-efficiency LED light bulbs to the state’s 600 food shelves. The 4-packs of bulbs will be free for food bank patrons.
Xcel Energy Spokeswoman Sherryl Volkert says more energy-saving bulbs in use also helps to lower the overall electricity demand on the power grid.
