The 2025 Girls Soccer State Tournament is here, and STMA has qualified for state. Below is a preview of the state tournament. The Teams:
#1 Seed: Wayzata Trojans, 14-0-2, defeated Rogers, 7-1 in 6AAA Finals.
State Appearance: 28th. state champs in 1991,1996,2000,2002,2009,2011,2012, and 2024.
One Player to watch: Lauren Craig, 25 goals and 21 assists.
Did you know? The Trojans defeated Edina, 3-1 in last year’s state championship game and carry a 34-game winning streak coming into state.

#2 Seed: Stillwater Ponies, 16-1-1, defeated White Bear Lake, 2-1 in 4AAA finals.
State Appearance: 13th. State champs in 1994, 1998, and 2021.
Player to watch: Rylee Lawrence, 16 goals and 13 assists.
Did you know? The Ponies have outscored their opponents, 74-9 this season with their only loss to Edina.

#3 Seed: Eagan Wildcats, 15-2-2, defeated Rosemount, 2-1 in 3AAA final.
State Appearance: 12th. State Champs in 2014, 2015, and 2017.
Player to watch: Stella Tripplett.
Did you know? Finished third last year at state.

#4 Seed: Lakeville North Panthers, 12-3-3, defeated Farmington, 3-1 in 1AAA finals.
State Appearance: 13th.
Player to watch: Abby Plasta, 9 goals and four assist.
Did you know? Goalie, Paige Ervasti posted eleven shutouts this season and stopped 94% of shots on goal.

#5 Seed: Prior Lake Lakers, 13-5-1, defeated Chanhassen, 4-0 in 2AAA finals.
State Appearance: 1st.
Player to watch: Ellie Ohman, 15 goals and twelve assist.
Did you know? Lost five of six in the middle of the season, but outscored their opponents, 28-4 to close the season and reach state.

Random Draw: Mounds View Mustangs, 10-6-3, defeated Spring Lake Park, 0-0 and 10-9 in shootout in 5AAA final.
State Appearance: 15th.
Player to watch: Ida Wynn.
Did you know? The Mustangs have been shut out seven times despite reaching state this year.

State Appearance: 10th.

Did you know? This is the fourth straight trip to state for STMA, and the Knights will be matched up with a fellow Lake Conference foe for the third straight year.
