  • Are you looking for fun activities for youth this summer? Would you like to know more about 4-H? Wright County 4-H invites you to check out their Summer Kick-off Night on Tuesday, April 23rd from 4:30 to 7 PM at the Wright County Government Center in Buffalo. There will be information about day camps, residence camps, engineering design challenge, and many other events. You can also learn mare about 4-H and membership.   • Everyone is welcome to a free multi-event which will occur Saturday, April 27th at Buffalo Zion Lutheran Church. The Blessing Closet will happen from 9 AM to 1 PM, providing free clothing to children and their parents. At the same time, Zion and Buffalo Food Shelf are offering a food drop of produce and bakery items. A free community breakfast will also be held from 9 to 11 AM.

  • Just Drive Day is Saturday, April 27th from 9 AM to noon at the Monticello High School. This free event is for all ages to bring awareness to the deadly epidemic of distracted driving. Join in for a walk, run, or bike ride on the designated path through town. Share a photo of your ride on the Just Drive Day social media pages.   • The Hanover Lions Club will be having their Annual Smelt Fry and Grilled Pork Chop Dinner on Saturday, April 27th from 11:30 AM to 5 PM at the Hanover City Hall. The menu will include all-you-can-eat smelt, grilled pork chops, bread sticks, coleslaw, baked beans, pickles, and cookies. Milk and coffee will also be included. Soda and beer will be available for purchase. Cost is $16 for adults, $10 for ages 6-12, and under 6 eat for free.

  • National Drug Take Back Day is April 27th. From 10 AM to 2 PM that day, bring your unused medications to Coborn’s in Albertville, and Citizens State Bank of Waverly – Montrose Office. This is a safe, convenient, and responsible way to dispose of unwanted, unused, or expired medication. No liquids are being accepted, medication should be in original container with all identification blacked out. If the original container is unavailable, please seal in a plastic bag. Vaping cartridges will be accepted, as long as the battery has been removed.

  • The Monticello Senior Center is sponsoring a breakfast fundraiser on Sunday, April 28th from 8 AM to noon in the Monticello Community Center gymnasium. The all-you-can-eat breakfast will include pancakes, ham, scrambled eggs, sausage, donuts, milk, juice, and coffee. The cost is $9 in advance (or $10 at the door) for ages 13 and up, $5 for ages 6-12, and kids under 6 eat for free. Purchase tickets now at the senior center.

  • Buffalo Presbyterian Church is sponsoring a free container gardening class for people who want to grow vegetables but don’t have room for a garden. The class will be held Tuesday, April 30th at 7 PM. In addition to valuable information, there will be hands-on planting, refreshments, and door prizes.     • Wright County Public Health announces its Wellness on Wheels program for the month of May. They will be held:

    • Thursday, May 2nd from 3 to 7 PM at Monticello High School – West Lecture Hall

    • Tuesday, May 14th from 1 to 5 PM at the Delano Senior Center – Activity Room

    • Thursday, May 16th from 2 to 6 PM at Annandale City Hall – Council Chambers Room

  • The General Federated Women’s Club of Delano honors Bill Hanson at its 2024 Citizen of the Year Spring Banquet on Sunday, May 5th at The Jerome in Delano. Dinner is being catered by B’s on the River. Doors open at 5 PM, dinner is at 6, and a program will follow. Tickets are available in advance only, and MUST be purchased by April 13th! Tickets are $40 per person, and are available from members, at Downtown Beauty, Coborn’s Courtesy Counter in Delano, and online at www.eventbrite.com.

  • The Waverly Knights of Columbus are hosting a pancake breakfast on Sunday, May 5th from 8 to 11 AM at the Waverly KC Hall. They will be serving regular and blueberry pancakes, French toast, sausage, eggs, milk, juice and coffee. There will be a free will donation collected at the door, with proceeds going towards KC scholarships. Takeout is available!

  • Allina Health Buffalo Hospital will be hosting its first Scrub Club on Monday, May 6th from 6 to 8 PM at the Buffalo Hospital. Scrub Club is a health career exploration program for high school students, designed to introduce them to various healthcare careers. Currently, it is open to Buffalo High School sophomores, juniors, and seniors, but if it is well received, will be offered on a monthly basis beginning in the fall.   • Gospel and Christian music fans are invited to a chili supper and concert from Ernie and Jason Couch, Thursday, May 9th at Annandale United Methodist Church. The dinner will be from 5 to 6:30 PM, with the concert beginning at 7. The father-son duo has performed with such greats as George Jones, Patti Page, Tommy Roe, Jeannie Seely, and others.   • You are invited to the “I Can Canoe, Can You?” brunch, held Thursday, May 9th at 10 AM at St. John’s Lutheran Church in Annandale. Invite a friend or two and make your reservations by calling Ardelle at 320-274-8336 or Betsy at 320-274-5419. This is a Stonecroft Women’s Connection Event.

  • The Montrose City Wide Garage sale will be Wednesday, May 15th thru Saturday, May 18th.

  • Wright County Horticultural Society is hosting a plant sale on Saturday, May 18th from 8:30 AM to noon at Buffalo Covenant Church. Indoor shopping for perennials, annuals, vegetables, and shrubs grown by local members. Accepting cash or check only. For more info, please email [email protected] or visit them on Facebook.

  • Minnesota Pioneer Park is hosting an Armed Forces Event on Saturday, May 18th from 10 AM to 5 PM, and May 19th from 10 AM to 3 PM, at the park in Annandale. Featuring the largest WWII re-enactment in the state of Minnesota! They will also have Civil War displays, WWII displays, rendezvous encampments, and more. Cost for the event is $10 for adults, $8 for 65 and older, and for veterans, $5 for kids aged 4-17, and free for 3 and under.   • The Hanover Golden Age Group is welcoming new members! The group meets on the first Tuesday of each month at 11 AM for lunch and socializing at the Hanover City Hall.
