The Girls Swim and Dive Meet takes place this week and weekend at the Aquatic Center on the U of M Campus, and there are plenty of athletes from the Wright County Area competing! What? 2025 MSHSL Girls Swim and Dive meet, featuring the top swimmers and divers in Class AA and A in the state of Minnesota.
When: Thursday, November 13th-Saturday, November 15th.
Where: Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the University of Minnesota Campus.
Format: Class A: Thursday, Noon, Diving Prelims, Friday, Noon, Swim Prelims, and Saturday, Noon, Finals.
Class AA: Thursday, 6 PM, Diving Prelims, Friday, 6 PM, Swim Prelims, and Saturday, 6 PM, Finals.
How did the Wright Count Area teams and athletes do last year?
As a team in Class A, Monticello finished second, and Delano finished fourth. In AA, STMA finished 4th, while Buffalo was 35th. Individually, Adelyn Biegler from Monticello set pool records in the 50 free (22.38), and the 100 free at (49.20), both good enough for All American status and she returns this season. Lilly Van Heel ended here illustrious career by winning the 100 backstroke. Van Heel is now a freshman at the University of Minnesota.

Athletes that will be competing at this year’s state tournament from Wright County.
Class A.
Monticello: Finished second at state last season and won the 5A finals as a team.
Adalyn Beigler, 200 free, and 100 back fly. (Last season Beigler set state records in the 50 free and 100 free at the state tournament, and is headed to Tennessee.
Scarlet Urick: 200 IM and 100 back fly. Urick finished 9th in the 200 IM last fall and 8th in the 100 back fly in 2024.
Ella Vagle: Vagle will compete in the 50 free where she was 8th last fall, and the 100 free where she finished 5th last fall.
Elsie Farnsworth: Will compete in the 100 free where she finished 8th last fall and the 200 free.
Chloe Schwietering: Chloe was 4th last year in the 1 meter dive and she will look to finish even higher this week.
Addie Zigan: Addie joins here teammate in the 1 meter dive.
As a team: The Magic will compete in the 200, 400, and 200 medley relay as a team.

Delano: Finished fourth at state last year and won their Section this fall.
Emma Ristau: Ristau was 12th in the 100 free last fall and returns to race in that one, and the 50 free.
Kaia Georges: Kaia is back to compete in the 50 free (9th last season) and the 100 free (10th last season.)
Mylie Pinoniemi: 100 free.
Maddy Mayer: 500 free.
As a team: The Tigers will compete in the 200, and 400 free.

The Delano Tigers, above, will be well represented at state once again, as four athletes qualified for state.
AA.
Buffalo: Finished 35 last year.
Emily Larson: 100 back. Larson finished 13th last fall.
Avery Lowe: Lowe is back for the back fly, where she came in 17th last season.
Addie Anderson: 500 free.
As a team: As a team the Bison will compete in the 200 IM relay.
STMA: Finished 4th last fall.
Addie Thompson-Klimpke: ATK is back in the 100 free (19th last fall.) and 200 free where she was 17th.
Ramya Beck: 1 meter dive.
