Minnesota Mayors from 98 cities statewide are urging Governor Tim Walz and the state legislature to address mounting fiscal concerns.
Crosslake Mayor Jackson Purfeerst says they see firsthand how state budget decisions ripple outward…
“Fraud, unchecked spending, and inconsistent fiscal management in St. Paul have trickled down to our cities, reducing our capacity to plan responsibly, maintain infrastructure, hire and retain employees, and sustain core services without overburdening local taxpayers.”
Purfeerst says the letter they’ve sent is a rare, unified voice from mayors representing metro and Greater Minnesota communities.
From our region, the mayors of Hanover, Montrose, Rockford, Cokato, Corcoran and Watkins are among the 98 Minnesota mayors to jointly sign the letter to lawmakers.
