Residents and visitors in Cokato are invited to the Cokato Historical Society on Sunday for the 25th Annual New Year’s Open House.
The event is planned for Sunday, January 5th from 1 to 4 PM in the Centennial Room of the Cokato Library and Museum.
Everyone is welcome to drop in and enjoy a demonstration of the Finnish New Year custom of “melting tin.” Legend has it that it can predict what your upcoming year will bring.
The event is free and open to the public. Tin is provided for the event, but if you wish to keep your tin after the demonstration you will need to purchase it. Another option is bringing in tin from previous years to be re-melted.
