Icy Conditions Lead to Thursday Afternoon Traffic Crash With Injuries in Silver Creek Township

One person was injured in a single-vehicle traffic crash Thursday afternoon in Wright County.

The State Patrol reports that around 3 PM, an eastbound Chevy Silverado pickup went out of control on I-94 in Silver Creek Township near milepost 185 and ran off the roadway.

Injured in the crash was the driver, 58-year-old James Stika of St. Louis, Missouri. He sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was transported to the St. Cloud Hospital for treatment.

Three passengers in the vehicle, a 54-year-old female and two males ages 31 and 20, all from St. Louis, were not injured.

State Troopers reported that the freeway was slippery due to snow and ice conditions at the time of the crash.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, the Monticello Fire Department and CentraCare EMS all assisted at the scene.
