The Buffalo Masons annual drive for area food shelves continues this month.
The Nelson Lodge No. 135 is in its 14th year of the food drive to benefit Buffalo and Maple Lake / Annandale area food shelves.
Organizers emphasize that it is important that if you want to make a donation that you don’t make your check payable to the food shelf itself. Make the check payable to Nelson Masonic Lodge No. 135, or Galilee Chapter No. 53. In the memo area of the check, you can write the name of the food shelf you want your donation to benefit, either the Buffalo Food Shelf, or the Annandale / Maple Lake Food Shelf. You can deposit your donation at Old National Bank in Buffalo, or mail it to Old National Bank; Attn: Masons Food Shelf Drive, 910 Commercial Drive in Buffalo, 55313.
Donations will go directly to the food shelf designated with no administrative expenses. Because the funds are in monetary form and go to the food shelves in March, they can use the money to purchase foods at a deep discount during the Minnesota Food Share Program.
This year’s drive continues through February 28th.
