The Buffalo Community Theater takes the stage again this afternoon (Sunday) with their production of “Disney’s Newsies Jr.”
Those familiar with the original 1992 movie, or the 2012 Broadway musical will recognize the familiar story and music of “Newsies Jr.”
“Newsies Jr.” tells the story of Jack Kelly, a charismatic newsboy who dreams of a better life outside the slums of New York, and is based on the true story of the newsboys strike of 1899. Jack leads a group of fellow “newsies” in the strike when publishing tycoon Joseph Pulitzer raises the price the newsboys must pay for their papers, cutting into their meager profit.
Don’t miss this production with lively music and dance on stage today (Sunday) at 2 PM at the Discovery Elementary School Auditorium in Buffalo. The production will also run next week, February 14th, 15th at 7 PM, and February 16th at 2 PM.
