One Injured in Friday Crash in Meeker County

One person was injured in a semi vs. compact SUV crash Friday morning in neighboring Meeker County.

The State Patrol reports that around 6:20 AM Friday, the semi truck was eastbound on Highway 24, while a Saturn Vue compact SUV was northbound on 315th Street in Forest City Township west of Kingston. The vehicles collided at the intersection.

Injured in the crash was the driver of the SUV, 40-year-old Fredy Lumbi-Galeano of Litchfield. He sustained non-life threatening injuries, and was airlifted to St. Cloud Hospital.

The semi driver, a 41-year-old man from Sioux Falls, South Dakota, was not injured.

The State Patrol was assisted by the Meeker County Sheriff’s Office, Mayo Clinic Ambulance, LifeLink Helicopter, and the Litchfield Fire and Rescue.
