2026 Girls Gymnastics State Tournament Preview

The 2026 State Tournament season is here, and this weekend the State Gymnastics tournament kicks off at Roy Wilkins Auditorium in St. Paul. Here is a look at the athletes and teams that are competing from the Wright County Area this weekend. Good luck to all the teams and athletes at state!

2026 State Gymnastics meet:

Where? Roy Wilkins Auditorium, St. Paul, MN.
When? Friday, 2/20 and Saturday, 2/21.
Times: Team for Class AA is at 11 AM Friday, and for A 6 PM Friday. Individuals are Saturday at 11 AM (Class AA) and 6 PM (Class A.)
Last Year: Owatonna won the AA state championship, while Detroit Lakes won the Class A Championship.
Any champs from Wright County last year? Thanks for asking, yes! For the second straight year we had a state champion from Wright County. Jackie Bergeron from STMA won it in 2024 in Class AA, and last year, Lauren Hanson, from Monticello won it in A. Hanson is back this season to defend her title, but at the AA level.

This year’s teams: 
Class A: Winona, Mankato East, Worthington, Breck, Watertown Mayer, Willmar, Becker and Detroit Lakes.
Class AA: Owatonna, Prior Lake, East Ridge, White Bear Lake, STMA, Hopkins, Cambridge Isanti and Monticello.

Athletes competing Individually from the Wright County Area

Class A:

Annandale: Grace Whelen, So., and Libby Luebker, Sr.
Delano: Cora Hinkle, So. Section 5A champ in the vault and finished 24th in the All-Around last year.

Rockford: Emmy Haag, 8th grader.
Maple Lake: Lilly O’ Donnel, Fr.
Howard Lake WW: Lillian Loge, Jr.

Class AA

STMA: Avery LeMonds, Sr. Finished 7th in the all-around last year at state in AA., Grace Lindenfelser, Jr., Skye Yaeger, Sr., Shelby Fischer, Sr. and Lilyanna Turner, So. STMA finished 8th as a team last year in Class AA and return an experienced team back to state this season.

Buffalo: Nancy DuBois, Sr. DuBois, finished 29th in the floor exercise last winter at state.

Monticello Magic: Lauren Hanson, Sr., Defending all around and individual state champ in Class A, also finished first on uneven bars last year at state. Keatyn Nowacki, Jr., Finished 5th in all around at state in A last winter, and 8th on floor. Alana Becklund, Jr, was 8th on uneven bars last year at state, and 11th in vault. Sienna Zepeda, So, finished 17th on balance beam last year. Alisha Grue, Sr. As a team the Magic finished 2nd in Class A last year at state, but this year moved up to Class AA…..it hasn’t slowed them down, as the Magic come into state as the #1 ranked team in AA.

Monticello, above, celebrates their Section 8AA championship last weekend. This year the Magic enter state as the #1 ranked team in Class AA.
