One person was injured when two pickup trucks collided Sunday afternoon in Wright County’s Middleville Township.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly before 4 PM, the two trucks collided at the intersection of County Road 35 Southwest and County Road 7 Southwest.
Officials say evidence at the scene along with witness statements indicated that a Toyota Tundra was eastbound on County Road 35 when it was struck by a Chevy Silverado that was northbound on County Road 7 Southwest. Witnesses reported that the Chevy truck failed to stop at the stop sign at the intersection, and struck the Toyota vehicle.
The driver of the Toyota pickup, 63-year-old Lauri Aho of Buffalo sustained non-life threatening injuries and was transported to an area hospital for treatment.
There were no reports of injury to the driver of the Chevy pickup, 29-year-old Mitchell Diers of Annandale. Authorities say Diers was cited for failing to stop at the posted stop sign.
The Howard Lake Fire Department and Allina Ambulance assisted Sheriff’s Deputies at the scene.
