The 2025 MSHSL Boys state swim and dive meet takes place this week, starting Thursday at the Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center on the U of M campus, and runs through Saturday. Below is a preview, focusing on the Wright County Area athletes competing. Good luck to all the teams and athletes this week!
2025 MSHSL Boys Swim and Dive Meet
Where: Jean K. Freeman Aquatic Center, U of M Campus.
Dates: Thursday, March 6th-Saturday, March 8th.
Class A Schedule: Thursday, 9:30 AM-12 PM Practice, 12 PM, Diving Prelims. Friday, 10:30 AM-11:50 AM, Warmups, 12 PM, Prelims. Saturday, 10:30-11:50 Warmups, 12 PM, Finals.
Class AA Schedule: Thursday, 3:30-5 PM, Warmups. Friday, 4:30-5:50 PM, warm up, 6 PM, prelims. Saturday, Warmup 4:30-5:50 PM, Finals, 6 PM.
Defending State Champs: 1A Blake/Breck, 2A Minnetonka.
Class A Teams, and Athletes Competing
Delano Tigers:
The Tigers are competing as a team, where last year they finished 9th in the state. As a team the Tigers are competing in the 200 Medley Relay, 200 free relay and 400 free relay. Here are the athletes competing for the Tigers.
MacKay Hoglund, 200 Free (Finished 12th last year), and 500 Free.
Henry Becker, 200 IM.
Oscar Hoglund, 1 meter dive (Finished 8th last year.)
Sam Daniels, 100 free (Finished 13th last year.)
The Delano swim team, above, is headed back to state.
Monticello Magic
The Magic are competing as a team, where last year they finished 6th in the state. As a team the Magic are competing in the 200 Medley Relay, and the 400 Free Relay, where they finished 3rd last year at state. Here are the athletes competing for the Magic.
Ethan Bad Heart Bull, 100 Backstroke (13th last year) and 200 IM.
Sam Martin, 100 Backstroke, and 200 IM.
Noah Miller, 1 meter dive, (12th last year.)
Gabe McDermott, 1 meter dive (4th last year.)
Tyler Grue, 100 Breast.

Also competing in A from the Wright County Area
Dominic Borg from DC will compete in the 50 free, and 100 backstroke. As a team DC will compete in the 200, and 400 Free Relay.

Buffalo Bison
The Bison are competing as a team, where last year they finished 18th. As a team the Bison will be competing in the 200 and 400 Free Relay. Here are the athletes competing for the Bison.
Ryan Close, 50 free (10th last year), and 100 butterfly (15th last year.)
Mason Evenson, 1 meter dive (11th last year.)
James Lemus, 100 Free (10th last year.)
Mason Pilcher, 100 backstroke.
The Buffalo Bison, above, celebrate their Section 8AA Championship. Mason Evenson from Buffalo was named 8AA Diver of the year, that same day.
Also competing in AA from the Wright County Area
William McKeown will represent STMA in the 1-meter dive.
