The winner of the open seat on the Maple Lake Township board has been named.
You may remember that no one filed for the open seat for a Town Supervisor for the annual township elections last week. Therefore, voters needed to write-in a candidate on their ballots for the office.
19 total votes were cast, resulting in a tie with both Vern Haag and Nate Green receiving 7 votes, along with 5 other miscellaneous write-ins.
Wright County Elections reports that Vern Haag was determined as the winner for Supervisor Seat 3 by MN Statute 204C.34 concerning tie votes.
