U of M Extension Study Shows Billions in Economic Activity From MN Bio-Fuel Industry

New data show the state’s ethanol plants generated more than 5.2 billion dollars in economic activity in 2024.

Brian Werner of the Minnesota Bio-Fuels Association says the industry also provides a lot of direct employment…

“You know, about 18-thousand-400 jobs in the state that are based off of just not only on the folks who work in the plants, but that all the the farmers themselves. It’s the folks who are driving the trucks that dropping off the corn at all the plants.”

Werner says ethanol production also has a large ripple effect on the economy in rural Minnesota.
