Multiple fire departments were called to a structure fire late Thursday morning in the City of Waverly.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly after 10:30 AM a caller reported the fire at 209 Pacific Avenue in Waverly. Eyewitness accounts indicated that the large warehouse type structure just off Highway 12 in Waverly was involved in the blaze. The affected building was said to be directly behind the former Eddie’s Ford building on Highway 12.

Authorities say initial information indicated that a box truck that was inside the building appeared to have started on fire. Upon arrival, deputies found the vehicle fully engulfed in smoke. Highway 12 was closed off to thru traffic between 6th Street South and 1st Street South while the Waverly, Montrose, Howard Lake and Cokato Fire Departments were called to the scene.

There was no report of any injuries. The cause of the fire is under investigation.
