Cokato Man Injured in Three-Vehicle Crash in Litchfield

A Cokato man was injured Tuesday morning in a three-vehicle crash in Litchfield in neighboring Meeker County.

The State Patrol reports that around 10:20 AM, a Chevy pickup was westbound on East St. Paul Street in Litchfield. Meanwhile, a semi truck was northbound on State Highway 22, and the two vehicles collided. The impact of the crash caused the pickup to then collide with the third vehicle, a Buick Lacrosse passenger car that was eastbound on East St. Paul Street.

The driver of the Buick sedan, 54-year-old Rick Plamann of Cokato suffered non-life threatening injuries in the crash and was treated at the Meeker Hospital in Litchfield.

The driver of the semi, 25-year-old Jonathon Niece of Watkins, and the driver of the pickup truck, 44-year-old Anthony Fransen of Litchfield, both escaped injury.

The Litchfield Police and Fire and Rescue Departments, and the Mayo Ambulance assisted the State Patrol.
