This week (April 14th through 18th ) is National Public Safety Telecommunicators Week.
Wright County Sheriff Sean Deringer says his department is taking time this week to thank its communications officers.
Communications officers are the first point of contact with those who need public safety assistance in our communities, and they are also the essential link between the department’s deputies, fire response, emergency medical services and the communities they serve.
The sheriff says the service that communications officers provide is vital, and they are often the unseen heroes behind it all.
