Be on the lookout for deer on and near Minnesota roads this time of year.
Department of Traffic Safety Director Mike Hanson says deer get more active in mid-May…
“They need to get out there, they need to rebuild their bodies. They need to take in as many calories as they can. On top of that, you know that those are all delivering their fawns. And then as the fawns get a little bit older, they’re going to be out there taking them along with Mom as well.”
Hanson advises; drive at a safe speed, stay vigilant, and use high beams at night to help avoid crashes with deer.
