A Memorial Mass is scheduled for Saturday in Big Lake for a longtime Monticello resident, volunteer fireman, civic leader and military veteran.
Lowell “Joe” Mortenson passed away April 17th at the age of 85.
Lowell was a U-S Army veteran. He and his wife, Patricia, moved to Monticello where Joe worked in construction as a heavy equipment operator. He then began over-the-road trucking with his wife. Later he worked for Hoglund Bus Company until his retirement.
Lowell was a volunteer with the Monticello Fire Department, and was active with the Knights of Columbus and the American Legion.
The Memorial Mass for Lowell “Joe” Mortenson is scheduled for 11 AM Saturday at the Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church in Big Lake.
