Zimmerman Woman Sent to Hospital After Crash with Straight Truck

A 56-year-old woman was sent to the hospital Wednesday after her vehicle collided with a straight truck in Princeton Township.

According to the State Patrol, Kristin Heather Valley of Zimmerman was northbound on Rum River Drive in her Mazda passenger vehicle.  As she merged onto Highway 169, her vehicle collided with a northbound Kenworth straight truck, driven by 46-year-old James Anthony Pohl of Ogilvie.

Valley was sent to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, while Pohl did not require medical attention.  Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts, and alcohol was not involved.

Roads were reported as wet in the 12:31 PM crash, although it is not known if this was a contributing factor in the collision.

The State Patrol was assisted by the Mille Lacs County Sheriff’s Department, Princeton Fire, and North Ambulance.
