The Wright County Highway Department’s 2025 seal coating season is now underway.

Officials say some 42 miles of Wright County highways will be treated: CSAH 5 – from Howard Lake to CSAH 35; CSAH 7 – from Howard Lake to Maple Lake; CSAH 8 – from the south county line to Waverly; CSAH 32 – between Highway 25 and CSAH 14; CSAH 41 – northeast of Buffalo; and lastly, County Roads 100, 141, and 142 – northwest of Cokato. In addition, nine park and trail locations will also be treated.

The type of work consists of applying two coats of bituminous sealing oil with angular rock chips adhered to the existing pavement to extend the pavement life and improve service. The highways will remain open while the work is done. Traffic will be directed by flaggers near and through the work zones. Travelers can expect minor delays. New striping including the centerline, lane lines and messages will be replaced as part of the county’s pavement markings contract ongoing throughout the season.
