Weather Warnings Late Monday Afternoon and Evening in Wright County, Neighboring Counties

Unsettled June weather prompted multiple warnings late Monday afternoon and early evening in numerous parts of Minnesota, including here in Wright County.

Area residents heard their first weather alert sirens of the season as two tornado warnings were in effect for Wright County at the same time, one along and north of Highway 55, and another in the vicinity of Highway 12. No tornado touchdowns were reported.

Some other severe thunderstorm ingredients were seen in some areas, mostly in the form of hail. Half-inch hail was reported in Howard Lake, while dime and pea-sized hail was reported by a resident in Waverly. Pea-sized hail was also reported in Kimball, while larger hail was reported in parts of Annandale and Maple Lake. Ping-pong ball sized hail was also reported in Cokato.

There were no reports of major damage, though in the areas where large hail was received, some degree of property damage would be likely.

No injuries were reported.
