Five people were injured, three seriously when four vehicles collided in Cokato Township Sunday afternoon.
The Wright County Sheriff’s Office reports that shortly before 3 PM Sunday, deputies were dispatched to the scene of the crash on County Road 3 and 30th Street Southwest, just north of Cokato.
Deputies found a Ford F150 pickup with heavy front-end damage facing north in the middle of the road on County Road 30. Officials say the driver of the vehicle, a 17-year-old male from Cokato whose identity was not released, sustained serious injuries and was transported to an area hospital.
Deputies reported a GMC Acadia SUV was found facing southbound, also in the middle of County Road 3, and also with heavy front-end damage. The driver of the vehicle, 40-year-old Erin Holker of Dassel, and a 13-year-old female passenger who was not named, both had severe injuries according to the Sheriff’s Office. Both were transported to medical facilities.
Also involved in the crash was a Ford Escape SUV, found on its side south of the intersection of County Road 3 and 30th Street Southwest. The driver of the vehicle, 92-year-old Lowell Peterson, and a passenger, 70-year-old Susan Peterson, both from Blaine, both had injuries and were transported to an area hospital.
The fourth vehicle, a Chevy Silverado pickup was found facing south on the side of the road with moderate damage to the driver’s side. The driver of the Chevy pickup, 35-year-old Jacob Aho from Cokato, was not injured.
Evidence and statements gathered from the crash scene are still under investigation.
The Cokato and Howard Lake Fire Departments, Cokato Ambulance and Allina Ambulance, and a Life Link Air Ambulance all assisted at the scene.
