Soggy Fields, High Water Almost Everywhere

Wright County, along with much of central and east central Minnesota continues to slosh through soggy areas after heavy weekend rain on top of a very wet month of June.

Numerous farm fields throughout the area have sections with standing water, and many growers are convinced that crops in those areas are likely to be lost.

Water is also high on numerous parts of area creeks, streams, lakes and rivers. Monday, water on the North Fork Crow River off County Road 7 and 20th Street in Middleville Township had risen to a level nearing the bottom of the bridge, and was moving very quickly.

State, county, city and township officials will continue to closely monitor high water levels in the area, and will make adjustments to roads or other facilities as needed, all the while hoping that Mother Nature cooperates with some drier weather in the coming days.
