The candidate filing window for the 2025 Special Election for the Minnesota Senate District 29 seat has officially opened.
The seat is currently open after the recent unexpected passing of State Senator Bruce Anderson of Buffalo.
Wright County Elections has announced that office seekers may file their affidavit of candidacy through next Wednesday, August 6th.
Information about filing for office in Wright County is available from the Wright County Elections candidate filing page, as well as additional information on the Secretary of State’s website. There is a $100 filing fee for the office.
Candidates may also file their paperwork with the Minnesota Secretary of State’s Office at the Veteran Services Building at 10 West 12th Street in St. Paul.
If more than one candidate files in any given political party, a Special Primary Election would be held Tuesday August 26th. The Special Election Day to fill the vacancy in Minnesota Senate District 29 will be held on Tuesday, November 4th.
