Sales of MN Deer Hunting Licenses Underway

Deer hunting licenses are now on sale for the upcoming hunting season in Minnesota.

DNR Big Game program coordinator Paul Burr says there’s one big change Minnesotans should be aware of…

Moving forward, there’s just one license that’s good for the A season statewide and then in the Southeast, where formerly the B season. Now we’re just calling the late SE season is offered, you just need that one license and you can hunt both seasons. So the season itself is not going away, it’s just the necessity to buy a separate license it’s going away.”

Burr says there are some changes related to chronic wasting disease management…

We do have three new management zones and we do have some other small changes related to CWD and sampling of deer to get your deer tested, it’s going to be mandatory on opening weekend. Again, make sure you know where you’re hunting to get the latest information in that DPA.”
