Two new counselors will be joining the Minnesota Department of Ag’s mental health support program for farmers.
The MDA hopes the move will better help the state’s farmers…
“Farmers are really tough, independent people, so it can be very challenging to pick up the phone and call somebody and say, hey, I’m struggling. Could I visit with you? So we certainly recognize that. And a lot of the clients that our counselors get are from word of mouth.”
MDA Senior Advisor Meg Moynihan says Minnesotans who need help can take advantage of the program by calling the Minnesota Farm and Rural Helpline at; 833-600-2670, or by visiting; www.MinnesotaFarmStress.com.
