Memorial services will be held today (Thursday) in Buffalo for a longtime area resident, and noted lay minister and dementia support advocate. Judy Weis of St. Michael passed away in recent days at the age of 79.
Judy and her late husband, Peter, were active members of the Zion Lutheran Church in Buffalo. They served as leaders in Stephen Ministry, and other committees.
Later, Judy also served as the director for the Buffalo Area Dementia Friends, and led a number of caregiver support groups. She was also an advocate for finding and creating resources for foster parents, particularly those caring for children with mental health concerns.
Services for Judy Weis are planned for today at the Peterson Chapel in Buffalo.
