The on-going highway re-construction work on Highway 55 in Annandale is continuing with work concentrating in a new area.
The Minnesota Department of Transportation says the Highway 55 access at Excelsior Avenue will be closed for approximately two weeks while crews re-grade and pave the roadway, install new curb and gutter and storm sewers, along with installation of a new traffic signal system.
Motorists who usually use the intersection are asked to take an alternate route such as Harrison Street / Oak Avenue, or Brown Avenue.

Meanwhile, Highway 55 remains closed between Brown Avenue and Annandale Boulevard. A detour using Wright County Road 3, County Road 39, Highway 24 and County Road 6 is the main detour route. Annandale businesses are still open for everyone within the closed work zone.
When completed in mid-October, MnDOT says motorists will enjoy a smoother ride, improved motorist and pedestrian access and safety, and updated drainage and city utilities.
More information on the project is available from the MnDOT website at; www.dot.state.mn.us.
