39th Annual Antique Car Run to Stop in Buffalo Saturday

The 39th Annual New London to New Brighton Antique Car Run will tour through the Wright County area once again this weekend.

The annual 120 mile tour through the Minnesota countryside is patterned after the “London to Brighton” car run in the UK, and is designed to show the endurance of these veteran cars. The run features vehicles from 1908 or earlier, or any 1 or 2 cylinder vehicles up to 1915. Some years, in addition to automobiles, high-wheel bicycles, motorcycles, steam and electric cars have also participated. Around 60 vehicles is the average number in the tour each year.

The vehicles will leave New London in Kandiyohi County at 7 AM Saturday, and will make various stops before pulling in for a lunch stop around 12 noon at the Buffalo American Legion. The public is invited to visit with the drivers and take a look at the cars between 12 and 1 PM. The cars will then take off for the final leg, with a goal of finishing at the Long Lake Regional Park between 3 and 6 PM.
