A simulated emergency drill will be conducted today (Tuesday) at the Monticello Nuclear Generating Plant.
The Minnesota Department of Public Safety, along with other state, county and city agencies will participate in the simulated emergency. The annual exercise tests the capabilities of federal, state and local agencies in the event of an incident at the plant.
Residents of the area, and travelers in the vicinity of the plant may see emergency responders in the area as they carry out their duties during the training exercise. Officials emphasize that there is no cause for alarm, as this is only a drill.
