Multiple fire departments battled a blaze Wednesday at a Winsted apartment complex.
The Winsted and Lester Prairie Fire Departments were called to the fire at the A-Plus Apartments off 6th Street North in Winsted around 11:30 Wednesday morning.

Officials indicate that a shed located between two apartment buildings may have been the source of the fire that then quickly spread to one of the buildings.
The blaze left heavy damage to one of the buildings, while damage to the other building appeared to be limited mainly to melted siding, and possible smoke damage.

There are no known injuries, and it’s unclear how many of the residents of the building that sustained the worst damage may have been at home at the time the fire broke out. Numerous residents of the apartment building with the heaviest damage are being assisted with temporary housing.
The cause of the fire, and the estimated damage is under investigation.
