After a lengthy summer of detours, traffic is flowing once again on Highway 55 west of South Haven.
MnDOT reports that the rennovation project on the Highway 55 bridge over the Clearwater River was recently completed, and the detour was lifted on Thursday (August 14th).
Officials say during the three-month bridge closure, crews re-surfaced the concrete bridge deck, replaced the approach panels and joints, and upgraded the railing and steel barrier approaches.
MnDOT says the result is a safer, lower-maintenance bridge which provides a smoother ride.
