A Winsted woman died Tuesday morning as the result of a two-vehicle traffic crash in neighboring McLeod County.
The State Patrol reports that around 9:20 AM Tuesday, a Pontiac Sunfire passenger car that was eastbound on Highway 7, collided with a Ford F-350 pickup that was southbound on McLeod County Road 2 in Hale Township.
Officials say 67-year-old Ardith Turvander of Winsted died at the scene of the crash. Authorities say she was not using a seat belt.
The driver of the Ford pickup, 28-year-old Sebastion Diede of Marshall, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Hutchinson Hospital.
The McLeod County Sheriff’s Office, Silver Lake Fire Department and Ambulance, and Allina Ambulance also responded to the scene.
