Though the 2025 road construction season is in its last few months, there are multiple projects that are continuing, or will be getting underway soon.
Construction was scheduled to get underway this week on the CSAH 37 / County Road 137 project. The work will coincide with the construction of the new Costco site in Otsego, and construction on MacIver Avenue.
Officials say the construction of a new roundabout at MacIver Avenue will be the first order of business, and County Road 137 will be closed to thru traffic beginning September 15th. A detour utilizing CSAH 19 or LeBeaux Avenue and CSAH 38 or 70th Street will be posted. A temporary bypass lane will be constructed to maintain access to MacKenzie Avenue. The first stage of the work is expected to be completed by early to mid-November.
Stage 2 of the project will be construction of improvements from the I-94 ramp terminals to east of Lymon Avenue. That work will begin in late April or early May of next year, and should open to traffic by mid-August. Final trail construction and restoration work is expected from mid-August to late-October of 2026.
Meanwhile, a temporary closure of County Highway 39 west of County Road 123 will begin on Monday, September 8th in order for crews to complete a culvert replacement project. The work area will be just west of County Road 123 on County Highway 39 in Silver Creek Township. A detour using County Highway 123 and CSAH 8 will be posted. Officials say the closure is expected to last about two weeks weather permitting, with work expected to be completed during the week of September 22nd.

Also next week, a two-day road closure on CSAH 9 along the east side of Waverly Lake has been scheduled. Beginning Tuesday, September 9th, a section of CSAH 9 will be closed to remove large trees from a private residence. Officials say this is expected to be a two-day closure, weather permitting. A detour will be posted using County Road 107 and CSAH 8.
