The deadline is approaching for those who wish to be included in a lottery drawing to participate in this year’s Disabled Veterans Duck Hunt at Robert Ney Regional Park near Maple Lake.
For more than a decade, Wright County Parks has worked with Pheasants Forever and several other organizations to plan and carry out the hunt on land that is otherwise not available to the public for hunting. The hunt continues as an event offered to those who have sacrificed so much of themselves to our country.
Anyone interested in participating in the event must submit an application to Wright County Veteran Services by Monday, September 15th. After that date, 8 participants will be selected through random lottery, and will be notified by September 19th at 5 PM that they have been successfully drawn as a participant for the October 4th hunt.
Questions may be directed to Wright County Veteran Services at (763) 682-7325, or Wright County Parks & Recreation at (763) 682-7693.
Interested persons may apply online at; www.co.wright.mn.us/parks.
