Teen Passenger Injured in Two-Vehicle Traffic Crash Saturday Evening in Waverly

A passenger was injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash Saturday evening in the community of Waverly.

The State Patrol reports that around 9:15 PM Saturday, a Jeep Grand Cherokee and a Toyota Corolla collided on Highway 12 at 4th Street in Waverly.

Officials say the Jeep was eastbound on Highway 12, while the Toyota was just getting onto Highway 12 at 4th Street. The vehicles were involved in a side-swipe type crash.

Injured in the incident was a passenger in the Jeep Grand Cherokee. A 13-year-old female from Montrose, whose name was not released, sustained non-life threatening injuries and was treated at the Buffalo Hospital.

The driver of the Jeep vehicle, 48-year-old Alma Rosales of Montrose, was not injured.

The driver of the Toyota sedan, 63-year-old Thomas Giza of Dalton, Minnesota, also escaped injury.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, the Montrose Fire Department, and Allina Ambulance assisted the State Patrol.
