State officials have announced that they are monitoring reported text messages that claim to be from the Minnesota Department of Revenue, asking the recipient to update banking information.
Officials say if you get one of these messages DO NOT reply, or click any link in the text.
The Department of Revenue says it would never send unsolicited texts asking for personal data.
Below is an example of the bogus texts being received by some Minnesotans:
