Two Injured in Saturday Evening Crash in Rockford

Two people were injured in a two-vehicle traffic crash Saturday evening in the community of Rockford.

The State Patrol reports that just after 7 PM, a Ford Escape SUV was stopped at the intersection of Highway 55, and was attempting to turn left onto northbound Main Street in Rockford. The SUV collided with a Ford F-350 pickup that was westbound on Highway 55.

The two occupants of the SUV were injured in the crash. The driver, 80-year-old Sandra Heston, and a passenger, 83-year-old Gerald Heston, both of Spring Lake Park, sustained non-life threatening injuries in the crash. Both were taken to the Mercy Hospital in Coon Rapids for treatment.

The driver of the pickup, 63-year-old Bill Plamann of Dassel, was not injured.

The Wright County Sheriff’s Office, and the Rockford Fire Department assisted the State Patrol at the scene.
