Minnesota employers added nearly 6,000 new jobs in August…
“Since last August, Minnesota has added 39,000 jobs, and that is a 1.3% increase, which compares well to the US rate, over the same time frame of 0.8%.”
Minnesota Department of Employment and Economic Development Commissioner Matt Varilek says despite the new jobs, the state’s unemployment rate increased one-tenth of a percentage point to 3.6%, compared to 4.3% nationally. The labor force participation rate sits at 68.1% compared to 62.3% nationally.
The county-by-county jobless rates for August should be released in the next week to ten days.
