Preliminary phases of a lengthy construction project on CSAH 39, or Golf Course Road, in Monticello are underway this week.
The two-phase project from Elm Street to 7th Street West includes the construction of a 10-foot-wide bituminous trail on the north side of CSAH 39, a complete reconstruction of the surface of the roadway, curb and gutter work on the north side of the road, and the addition of a drainage pond on the south side of the project.
This week marks the first phase of the project which includes closure of CSAH 39 in the area of the construction through mid-November. Local traffic will have access to residences and businesses in the construction zone. A detour will be in place south on Elm Street to 7th Street West through Saturday, September 27th. No parking will be allowed on Clubview Driver due to tree removal.
Residents will be notified of full road closures during the installation of storm sewer pipes that will close CSAH 39 at the intersections with Kampa Circle and Fairway Drive.
Working hours on the project are expected to be from 7 AM to 7 PM Monday through Saturday. A total completion date on the project has been set for late June, 2026.
