The community of Becker will be without a U-S Post Office location at the end of the business day on Friday.
The retail services location of the Becker Post Office on 1st Street Southeast will be closed due to the lease on that building expiring on October 31st.
In a statement, the USPS says as of Saturday, retail operations for the Becker facility will transfer to the Monticello Post Office.
Officials say customers who have a current Post Office Box will be able to receive their mail daily at the mailboxes on the north side of the Becker Community Center, and curbside residential and business mail delivery will continue without interruption.
The problem cited by many Becker residents and businesses is that any other type of service such as package mailing, stamps and other postage purchases, or bulk mailing will need to be done at the Monticello Post Office, or at USPS retail operations in other neighboring communities such as Big Lake or Clear Lake.
The USPS says it is continuing to explore alternative locations within the City of Becker.
