The cheerful ringing of a bell next to a red kettle is one of the sure signs the holiday season, and we’ll begin to see and hear them this weekend.
Salvation Army bell ringers will be back starting Saturday at store entrances across the state.
Spokesman Dan Furry says this year, behind every bell is a bigger story; more families than ever are turning to the organization for help…
“Bell ringers can raise an average of $85 an hour when they’re ringing, and so that ends up being very, very significant. That one hour allows us to feed 170 people.”
Individuals, families, churches, businesses, and community groups can learn more and start their own bell-ringing tradition by signing up at; www.RegisterToRing.com.
