Government Re-Opening Seen Positively by Numerous Ag Groups

(MN Farm Bureau President Dan Glessing)

The re-opening of the U-S government after its longest ever shutdown is positive news for many agricultural groups.

Waverly area farmer Dan Glessing is the president of the Minnesota Farm Bureau…

Well certainly glad that we’re able to get the government back open. There’s a lot of services that farmers and ranchers utilize whether it’s FSA or NRCS. I know we’ve had some reach out from some folks who have some projects that they would like some answers to, specifically around NRCS on some of those grants that help out when farmers are trying to do some improvements and what not.”

Glessing says it’s unfortunate that there hasn’t been any revisions to the U-S Farm Bill, which was essentially renewed once again in its current form.

Glessing says he will be visiting in the nation’s capitol in December as a part of the American Farm Bureau.
