Minnesota Farm Bureau Details Future Issues

The Minnesota Farm Bureau Federation recently held its annual convention and meetings.

Wright County area farmer Dan Glessing of Waverly is the Minnesota Farm Bureau President.

He says the MFB board is continually looking to the future of agriculture and the next generation of farmers…

As a board, we take that discussion, we take conversations from our district meeting as well and come up with some priority issues. Some of those would be, family farm legacy, and how do we help prepare, or give the right tools or incentives to do some transitional planning. When you look the turnover, the actual age of the farmer, there should be a lot of turnover coming up and we want to make sure that those farms can be successfully transferred to the next generation.”
