Four-Vehicle Crash in Northwestern Minnesota Involves Two Drivers From Our Region

Two drivers from our region were involved in a four-vehicle traffic crash in Northwestern Minnesota Sunday afternoon.

The State Patrol reports that around 4:15 PM, a Ford Escape SUV and a Chevy Equinox were stopped on westbound Interstate 94 due to congestion. A westbound Chevy Cruze passenger car that was also westbound collided with the Equinox, causing the SUV to spin out and collide with a Dodge Durango and the Ford Escape.

Injured in the crash was the driver of the Chevy Equinox, 61-year-old David Harnden, and two passengers in the vehicle, 58-year-old Catherine Harnden and 21-year-old Matthew Harnden, all from Everett, Washington. All three were treated at the Lake Region Hospital in Fergus Falls.

The driver of the Ford Escape, 20-year-old Lindsey Ek of St. Michael, the driver of the Dodge Durango, 54-year-old Ted McKinney of West Fargo, and the driver of the Chevy Cruze, 22-year-old Tyler Johnson of Rogers, all escaped injury.

The Ottertail County Sheriff’s Office and Ringdahl Ambulance assisted at the crash scene.
